Dear Colleagues,

we regret to inform you that the 13th International Conference of the Croatian Nuclear Society (HND2020) in Zadar, Croatia is postponed until next year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The decision has not been an easy one, but it is reasonable given the current situation. The Steering Board of the Croatian Nuclear Society made a decision based on good practices and recommendations for not holding major events with a larger number of participants in the coming period. The health and safety of everyone involved is our first priority.

We informed the hotel about cancelation, but it is an obligation of each participant to cancel her/his hotel reservation.

The new dates for the Conference are not fixed yet, but it will be approximately at the same time next year, in late May and/or early June of 2021. As soon as we make all the necessary arrangements, we will inform you on the new dates via e-mail and post the announcement on the conference website. We will also post and send you the new calls for abstracts and papers in due time.

We are grateful for all the submitted abstracts. They are of the highest quality, but we have not been able to proceed to the author’s notification phase due to the current situation. We hope that you will submit your papers for our Conference next year as well and we are looking forward to your contributions. Clearly, in the meantime you are free to resubmit your abstracts and papers intended for this Conference to any other event or publication.

We are aware that new Conference dates might not be convenient to everyone, but we hope you will be able to join us next year. The Programme and Organizing Committees of the HND2020 conference are working hard to carry out this postponement and will communicate with all concerned in due time to make these changes go as smooth as possible.

We hope that you will be able to attend the Conference next year. In the meantime, thank you very much for your efforts and expressed interest and, please, stay safe in these challenging times.

Sincerely,

Ivan Vrbanić (APOSS)

Programme Committee Chair
